James Dearlove

James Dearlove lives and works in Cornwall, UK. He studied at the Slade School of Art, London, and Turps Art School. Recent solo exhibitions and presentations include The Trilling Wire, galeriepcp, Paris (2025); Platform at London Art Fair, curated by Gemma Rolls-Bentley (2024); and Tales of the City, Tales of the Sea, BWG Gallery, London (2023). He was selected for New Contemporaries in 2023, exhibiting at Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool, and Camden Art Centre, London.


Recent group exhibitions include Ancient Modern, Brooke Benington, London (2026); Mythic Manifest, Love Waxes Cold, London (2025); Pourquoi London, Canopy Collections and Gertrude Art, London (2024); Slow Painting, Contemporary British Painting, Studio KIND, Barnstaple (2024); Ingram Collection Presentation, British Art Fair, Saatchi Gallery, London (2022); Burra and Friends, Rye Art Gallery, Rye (2021); and Queer as Folklore, Gallery 46, London (2021).


In 2021, Dearlove was awarded the Ingram Prize, and his work was subsequently acquired by the Ingram Collection. He has undertaken residencies at Clover Mill, the Netherlands (2024); Colstoun House, Scotland (2023); and Cyprus College of Art (2022).
