Artist Talk: Alina Zamanova

April 2, 2026

Join us for a conversation with Ukrainian artist Alina Zamanova, moderated by curator Maria Hinel.

Witnessing the daily aerial attacks on Kyiv, Alina Zamanova documents the ways in which the ongoing war in Ukraine reshapes the human psyche and the natural landscape, tracing the deep marks that endure even in moments of perceived calm. In her paintings, passages of sharp focus emerge from fields of turbulent, energetic brushwork, as abrupt visions in the ceaseless influx of daily experience.

Alina Zamanova (b. 1993, Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine) lives and works in Kyiv. She has exhibited internationally, including Mulier Mulier, Brussels (2025); Begijnhofkerk Catholic Church, Mechelen (2024); Royal Scottish Academy (2023); and Max Hetzler, Berlin (2022), among others. In 2025, she participated in the Tracey Emin Artist Residency in Margate.
