Jan Urant (*1984) lives and works in London, United Kingdom. Urant’s work reveals an inner world of personal stories, memories, and figurative characters. He creates his paintings, through a long process of painting, washing off, scraping off and applying dry pigments of what later becomes a dreamy pictorial image with multiple layers of colours and narratives. Urant completed his MA in Art Theory at Chelsea College of Arts and Ba (Hons) degree in Photography at London College of Communications. He was shortlisted for STRABAG Art award Int in 2022 and the ESSL ART AWARD CEE in 2015 and In 2024/25 he took part in the Sarabande Foundation residency.
