Lydia Halcrow is a visual artist exploring the meeting points between memory, time, body and place. Working with experimental drawing and mark-making devices attached to her hands and feet to record the repetition of daily journeys on foot and the natural processes of decay that surround us. The work is a form of alternative map-making holding earthy records of many footsteps marking out time along rapidly eroding coastal landscapes. Halcrow’s work is held in private and public collections in the UK and Internationally and has been shown in Hestercombe Gallery, Messums West, The RWA, Le Centre National d'Art Contemporain de Grenoble (CNAC) and La Galería Arte Contemporaneo, Guadalajara. Halcrow holds an MA and PhD in Fine Art and teaches as an Associate Lecturer on Fine Art, Drawing and Creative Arts BA and MA courses.
